Any type of musicians are welcome to join us, from stringed instruments to woodwinds, brass, and singers. Most facilities will have a piano on-site, we will check for you.
We are currently aiming for one performance every 4-6 weeks. As we expand our network, we will be able to coordinate more frequent events.
Yes! We welcome all skill levels. We've found nursing home residents enjoy listening to all levels of musicianship. They also really appreciate socializing after the performance.
At this time, we are not able to provide transportation. We will be sure to send the address, performance times, and contact information for the facility. We primarily focus on the Bellevue WA area, though have also traveled to Redmond.
The volunteer hours will be verified by the nursing facility, not our organization. We will provide you with the contact information for the activities coordinator of the nursing home who will verify your hours. Bellevue School District high schools will accept volunteer hours from nursing facilities. If you attend a school from a different school district, you should check with your specific school district policy.Â
